Dear Diary,

Giles is off visiting some witches in Oregon.

Two days ago, he got a phone call from the Coven in Devon asking him to visit their sister Coven in Whispering Pines, Oregon.  (The witches there are the ones in charge of locating all the new Slayers in North America.)  The English witches told him the American witches needed to talk him in person.

Buffy, Willow and Xander wanted to go with him but he told them he could take care of himself.  Buffy got snippy and said to remind her of that the next time he had a concussion.  No one wants to admit it out loud, but the only time any of us is relaxed is when we're all together and we know for sure everyone is safe.

It's really quiet here with Andrew gone, and all the Slayers gone and now Giles gone, too.  Kennedy, Willow and Xander are at a movie.  At first I thought Kennedy wanted some time alone with Willow but Willow didn't want to be alone with Kennedy.  But then Kennedy was the one who invited me and Buffy so maybe she really didn't want to be alone with Willow.  Or maybe Willow wanted to be alone with Kennedy only she knew Xander didn't want to be alone.  (He's still really quiet about things and it's hard to tell what he's thinking.)  I don't know what's going on.  Everyone is so careful not to talk about certain things that sometimes it seems that what's not being said is louder than what is being said.  If that makes sense.

I hope Giles comes back soon.

More later.

Dear Diary,

Last night Willow and Kennedy broke up and Kennedy decided to go to Cleveland to work with Faith and Robin. (That must have been one hell of a movie!  I guess romantic comedies just aren’t what they used to be.)

They told Xander and Buffy and me at breakfast this morning.  It was so weird, because they were sitting beside each other, talking to one another and everything. But Kennedy said that just because they weren't a couple any more didn't mean they weren't still friends.  (How Dr. Phil is that!)

You know, Buffy must be doing something wrong.  She breaks up with a guy and there's crying, sobbing, and months and months of angst.  Willow and Kennedy break up and there's French toast and orange juice.

Willow said they'd had a long talk and finally realized they're headed two different directions.  Kennedy is eager to start her job as slayer and get out there and fight evil and Willow's been doing that for seven years and just wants a little peace and quiet.

After Kennedy left to do some packing, Buffy told us that she'd talked to Giles last night.  He'd already met the witch who founded the Coven and she's English!  (Wonder how a nice English witch ended up in Oregon?) He's not sure how long he's going to be gone, but promised to keep in touch so we'll know he's ok.

More later.
